Glossary

There might be a few terms, slang, names of events/places/dates which you might not really understand while reasing my blog. So here is the place to go when you don't understand what I'm talking about, or you want background information. I'm not afraid to share. I usually link things to this page through a post, although sometimes I forget from utter laziness.

So here are a few things you should get clear before reading ahead:
Amber: One of my best-friends, she is short (1.54 metres), with mahogany coloured hair and green eyes. She's always cheerful and can be a little (or always) insane. She has a soft voice despite her out-going attitude and can basically coil any boy around her little finger. She loves animals with her father owning a ranch. Her mother is from Japan and her parents have recently broken up (see: Chapter Two). She can ramble on forever if you'd let her, and has a deep hatred of computers.

Brock: Amber and I nickname him "Rock" since he's tall, broad shouldered and muscly (we have a suspicion that he works out secretly in the woods. Because all I ever see him do is play Halo). He comes from a snobby and rich family and speak in an Irish accent, although nobody knows why. He has deep blue eyes that can go grey, messy brown hair and has a tendency to frighten little kids. He's like a loose-canon, or a guard dog ready to attack, but aroud Amber and I he sort of, uh, "melts" into a softer kind. During the holidays he spends time at the school because he's parent's won't have him. He's a great gamer, especially at Halo. Although I pawn him in Battlefeild ;)

Ophelia and Frank Black: My parents. I don't get to see them much since they're making up for years of work to travel the world. Frank is fun-loving, thin and hairy and Ophelia is just as fun loving although a tad tubby, althoguh you should never tell her that. I don't call them by their first names, although addressing them as "mom" and "dad" here feel weird. Ophelia holds the Black name (Frank kept his Thomas surname).
Mr. Crow: A old friend of my parents. He's a funeral director and Brittany, Sophie and I always visit him during the holidays. He's short, balding, large and hilarious, although sometimes short-tempered. He makes the best cookies and cakes although he has a penchant for forgetting the buy groceries. One time Brock came with us to stay with him (aged 13). He never comes again.

My Boarding School: I do actually go to a boarding school. It's surrounded by bushland called WynterMoore Forest, which makes it sound dangerous bit the school is guarded by walls. It was a castle back in the old, old days and some people claim that it's haunted. Not many people attend my school since it costs a bucket-load and there's a resonable public school in town. The school is also a college campus, and there are millions of those students. The school goes from what you'd called "middle school" to high school.

Sophie and Brittany: My older sisters, they're both twins although the complete opposite. Sophie has dyed-blonde hair and is an utter girly-girl like my mother, she goes through boys like klinex and has no ability to take a joke. The only thing like me she possesses is a love for reading books, although she perfers paranormal romance and won't read anything that's not ATOM published. Brittany on the other hand hates books and claims that it is pointless to read a book when a movie has already been made of it. Where I'm distant from Sophie I'm close to Brittany, although she has a tendancy to brag a lot and become extremely self-righteous. She's tall and athletic and loves to poke fun at everything. She likes to call me "kiddo" although I'm only a year longer. I call her "child", as she is ... well, I wouldn't like to say "dumber", but more of a very-less-intelligent-than-myself.

The Black Wolf Manor: My parent's house and probably my favourite place in the world. It's around a hundred years old, although you can't really tell because of the renovation my grandparents did when they inherited it. It looks sort of Gothic and used to have a large fence until that was removed. The yard is mostly surrounded by large servant buildings where I used to play with Brittany, although I don't go there anymore. Because of the spiders.

It wasn't originally called Black Wolf Manor, but Blackholme after the people who lived there before (not relatives), however one of my long distant who served the Blackholme's apparently killed her masters and so the name was changed forever when he "inherited the house". I don't believe the story, my theory is my great ancestor bought the house, and his friend was called "Wolfe" or something of the sort and they shared the name together. Boring. Yes.

Florence Creek: The nearest town to my school and where my house is located. It's small and shabby with shops that sell their water for $3 (if you don't know my currency, that's a LOT for water). There's a public school there, but everyone who goes there has black hair dye and gives you the "evil eye" when you walk by (in short, they creep my out). We're allowed to visit the town on weekends and during free periods, although the only interesting place would be the cinema where Brock and Amber and I usually spend our time. Not many people from my school actually go there, since you have to walk or catch the school buses (7:00 or 3:00). Brock, Amber and I ride our bikes there, since none of us know how to drive yet.

WynterMoore Forest: The forest that surrounds my school, although it's not much of a "forest". The trees are thin, although it goes for some time. In the middle of it there's a farm, I don't know who belongs to it but they have a horrible shed. Lots of holes in the roof. It belongs to my school and so we can walk through it if we feel like.
